🌿 Celebrating World Migratory Bird Day – A Thoughtful Beginning

The session opened with an engaging discussion on World Migratory Bird Day, setting a thoughtful tone for the Live. Mrs. Neetu Kumari beautifully explained the history and purpose of the day – an international awareness campaign highlighting the need for the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. She emphasized how this global observance connects communities across continents in protecting birds that travel thousands of kilometers across our skies.

The children were also well-versed with the theme and added their own enthusiasm to the conversation by sharing how they observe and protect birds in their surroundings.

Crafting Care – Making Bird Houses and Feeders

One of the most impactful parts of the session was the inspiring project taken up by the school children under the guidance of their Green Teacher – making birdhouses and bird feeders from reused materials.

Kanishka and Mohit shared their process – from collecting eco-friendly materials to assembling safe resting places for birds around their homes and school premises. This hands-on activity not only promoted empathy for animals but also encouraged recycling and thoughtful crafting among peers.

🐸 Celebrating Save the Frogs Day – Through Art & Awareness

Another unique initiative shared was their Save the Frogs Day celebration, where students participated in a school-wide painting contest. Prince, the youngest among the panelists, spoke confidently about what he learned about the role of frogs in the ecosystem.

Mrs. Neetu added that the activity went beyond art – students were engaged in basic research on frogs, including their life cycles, threats, and importance as indicators of a healthy environment. Such efforts highlight how environmental education can be both creative and inquiry-based.

Reflections on the Insta Live Experience

When asked how they felt about being part of an Instagram Live show, all three students smiled with pride. Kanishka expressed excitement about sharing their stories with a larger audience, while Mohit admitted he was nervous but happy to speak up for the environment. Prince beamed with joy, calling it one of the most memorable moments of his school life.

Mrs. Neetu appreciated the platform and thanked Prithvi Innovations for amplifying voices from rural schools like theirs – where students are not just studying but also acting for the Earth.

Environmental Concerns: Brick Kilns & Plastic Pollution

The session didn’t shy away from tough issues either. The students highlighted pollution caused by nearby brick kilns (brick bhattas) in their region – a common concern in rural Uttar Pradesh. They observed how it impacts the air, soil, and even local health, showing a commendable level of awareness.

The group also discussed plastic pollution around their homes and school, pledging to reduce single-use plastics and encouraging their families to adopt reusable alternatives.

Summer Care: Guardians of the Green

One of the most heartening discussions was about the Nature Club activities during summer vacations. The students shared their plans to:

  • Take care of plants on school premises

  • Maintain a daily bird-watching and flora-fauna observation diary

  • Encourage friends to water and protect trees around their homes

They have already started documenting species in their local biodiversity, showing that learning continues beyond the classroom.

🌟 A Catchy Close: From Rural Roots to Planet Protectors

The session wrapped up with a hopeful and powerful message:

“Even from a small school in a rural corner of Uttar Pradesh, voices can rise to heal the Earth. Whether it's a birdhouse, a brushstroke about frogs, or caring for a plant in the scorching sun – every green action counts.”

Mrs. Neetu signed off by encouraging students across India to join hands and hearts for the planet – because change starts young, and change starts now.
