As part of the Earth Day 2025 special series “Aashayein – Voices of Mother Earth”, Prithvi Innovations hosted yet another powerful and thought-provoking Instagram Live session. This episode featured an insightful dialogue between Green Teacher Awardee Mrs. Kavita Shahi, Geography teacher at CMS, Gomtinagar, and her bright student Avika. The session was beautifully moderated by Ms. Anuradha Gupta, Founder of Prithvi Innovations.

🌏 Exploring Biodiversity, Youth, and the Environment

The conversation began with a meaningful exchange around biodiversity, sustainable development, and the environment – setting a reflective tone for the entire session. The focus remained on understanding the youth’s perception of the environment, their concerns, and how they interpret nature in today’s fast-paced world.

Avika shared her candid and thoughtful views on what nature means to a student. To her, nature is peace, serenity, and balance. She elaborated that every element in nature exists in perfect proportions and harmony, and it is this balance that brings beauty and calmness to the world. She emphasized the importance of maintaining this equilibrium through mindful actions and sustainable choices.

🌸 Nature, Identity, and Laughter

A heartfelt question posed by Ms. Anuradha – “Do you think nature gives us laughter?” – evoked smiles and deep reflections. Avika responded with the idea that nature gives joy in subtle ways: the rustle of leaves, the chirping of birds, or the cool breeze on a summer day – all contribute to light-heartedness and emotional well-being. Mrs. Kavita Shahi added that her students often find happiness through their nature projects and interactions with the environment.

There was also an intriguing discussion on how Avika sees herself compared to others. She conveyed her strong sense of individuality grounded in nature, and how her connection with the environment gives her a unique perspective in everyday life.

🏆 From Classrooms to Global Platforms

Mrs. Kavita Shahi spoke proudly about the commitment and dedication of her students, who have actively participated in environmental projects under the WIPRO Earthian Program by CEE (Centre for Environment Education). Their work has been recognized at both national and international levels, a testimony to the power of green education and strong mentorship.

🔥 What’s the Most Pressing Environmental Challenge Today?

When asked about the biggest environmental challenge in Lucknow city, Avika did not hesitate to highlight global warming. She connected the local scenario with global impacts – rising temperatures, changing weather patterns, and the visible toll on urban green spaces. Her response reflected both awareness and concern, as well as a sense of urgency that today’s youth carry.

🌟 A Memorable Conclusion

As the session came to a close, it was clear that this was not just a conversation – it was a call to action, a shared vision, and a celebration of young voices and passionate educators.

🔔 The concluding message rang loud and clear:

“In a world full of noise, may we find time to listen to the voice of the Earth – through our children, our teachers, and our actions. Let’s keep nurturing Aashayein – because hope, like nature, finds its way.”
