On 22nd April 2025, Prithvi Innovations proudly presented an inspiring Earth Day Special Insta Live with the passionate eco-educator and Green Teacher Awardee, Dr. Mohammed Yaseen, from the heritage-rich city of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.


💫 This session was a rich blend of scientific awareness, traditional wisdom, and youth-led curiosity, sparking green thoughts for a greener tomorrow.


🌱 Key Highlights of the Session


1. Children’s Question: Why Celebrate Earth Day? The session began with an engaging question posed by students — “What is the need to celebrate Earth Day?” Dr. Yaseen explained it beautifully, saying:

“Earth Day is not just a day. It is a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the only home we all share – our planet.”


2. Enlightening Talk on Global Environmental Challenges Dr. Yaseen delved into urgent environmental issues:

  • Ozone Layer Depletion – its causes and global consequences.

  • Global Warming & Greenhouse Gases – explained with real-life implications.

  • Harmful Effects of UV Radiation – including threats to health, crops, and marine ecosystems.


3. Chittorgarh – A Treasure of Biodiversity 🌿 He proudly highlighted Chittorgarh as one of the richest biodiversity zones in Rajasthan, nurturing a unique variety of flora and fauna.


4. Ramsar Wetlands & Rajasthan's Ecological Richness 🌊 Dr. Yaseen informed the viewers that 10% of Rajasthan's wetlands are designated as Ramsar Sites, making it a crucial region for bird migration and aquatic biodiversity.


He mentioned:

  • Sitamata Sanctuary – known for its teak forests and leopards.

  • Kila Water Harvesting Systems – a brilliant example of traditional water conservation practices embedded in local heritage.


5. Decline of Species & Alarming Changes Dr. Yaseen discussed the decline of certain species like native birds and rodents, triggered by habitat destruction, pollution, and overuse of chemical pesticides.


6. Call to Reduce Food Waste  He touched on the often-ignored issue of food wastage in schools and homes and emphasized the need to cultivate mindful consumption habits, especially among the youth.


Concluding Thoughts:

Dr. Yaseen left the audience with this powerful message:

“The Earth doesn’t need us. We need the Earth. Let’s treat every day as Earth Day, and act before it’s too late.”


The session ended with cheers and applause from students and viewers across India, a true tribute to Earth Heroes like Dr. Yaseen, who blends education with environmental action.
