In a special episode of Aashayein – Voices of Mother Earth, Part 3 of the Bioscope Instagram Live Talk Show Series by Prithvi Innovations, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Anshuma Dubey, a Clinical Psychologist and passionate mental health advocate. The session, held on 7th May 2025, offered a deeply reflective and enriching dialogue on the intersections between mental health, laughter, nature, and healing.

Dr. Anshuma began the session by beautifully responding to the opening question: “If you could give a color to laughter, what would it be?” With grace and poetic flair, she described laughter as “a rainbow in itself,” symbolizing how it embraces all emotions, transcending singular tones to reflect a full spectrum of healing, hope, and joy. This was a gentle reference to World Laughter Day recently celebrated, setting the tone for a heartwarming and insightful exchange.

She shared her personal journey of becoming a Clinical Psychologist, tracing the roots of her passion for understanding the human mind and helping others heal emotionally. Her experiences offered viewers a peek into the depth and empathy required in the field of clinical psychology.

A major highlight of the discussion was Dr. Anshuma’s articulation of the connection between nature and our neurological wellbeing. She explained how being in nature positively stimulates our brain, helping reduce cortisol levels and enhancing serotonin—the hormone associated with happiness. She emphasized how nature acts as a silent therapist, influencing our mood, memory, and even attention span.

Addressing a key question on the integration of music therapy, she affirmed that music is indeed a valuable therapeutic tool. She explained that depending on the client's needs and emotional state, music can be used to induce calm, enhance focus, or even process grief, further strengthening the multi-dimensional healing powers of sound in sync with nature.

The discussion also touched upon the difference between a Psychologist, Psychiatrist, and Clinical Psychologist, an important distinction that Dr. Anshuma clarified with ease for the audience. While a psychologist focuses on behavioral and emotional support, a psychiatrist is a medical doctor authorized to prescribe medication. A clinical psychologist, like herself, bridges both understanding and therapy in structured formats.

One of the pressing concerns Dr. Anshuma addressed was Digital Addiction, labeling it as one of the greatest emerging threats to both mental health and societal relationships. She advocated for balanced screen time, promoting outdoor activities, mindfulness practices, and building stronger human connections.

When asked to describe Aashayein – Voices of Mother Earth in five words, Dr. Anshuma eloquently chose: “Hope. Healing. Harmony. Growth. Awakening.” These words perfectly captured the spirit of the talk show series and echoed the underlying message of the campaign.

The session concluded with a powerful thought:

“Nature doesn’t just surround us - it lives within us. It is the first and the most ancient healer. If we pause, breathe, and listen, we will find all the answers we seek in its silence.”

The Instagram Live ended on an uplifting and soulful note, leaving the audience deeply moved and more connected to themselves and the environment. As the conversation reinforced, healing doesn’t always come in pills or prescriptions sometimes, it comes in the form of a walk under the trees, a breath of fresh air, or a moment of laughter shared under the open sky.

🌱 Truly, a session that touched minds and hearts – reminding us that the path to well-being lies under open skies, within green forests, and often, in the quiet company of birds, trees, and sunlight.
