“Be the change you wish to see in the world – and sometimes, that change begins with a broom, a bag, and a big green heart.”
On 22nd April 2025, as the world celebrated Earth Day, Prithvi Innovations teamed up with Lucknow Nagar Nigam and the enthusiastic students of CMS Chowk Branch for a spirited Clean-Up Drive and Eco-Awareness "Walk the Talk" Campaign opposite the buzzing Sharma Tea Ground in Lalbagh, right in the heart of the city, near the Nagar Nigam Head Office.
🌍 Turning Awareness Into Action
The event wasn't just another clean-up - it was a movement in motion. With Earth Day’s global theme echoing around the world, we brought it alive right here in Lucknow’s streets by stepping up for sustainability.
From the moment the morning sun hit the pavements, the area buzzed with green energy - volunteers, Nagar Nigam officials, students, and our Green Yodha team all joined hands to take charge of their surroundings.
Green Outcomes & Impact:
Physical Cleanup
Remove litter and plastic waste from the roadside and green patches adjacent to Sharma Tea Ground.
Waste‐Segregation Awareness
Demonstrate proper segregation of plastics, paper, and organic waste.
Discourage single-use plastics through educational posters.
Community Engagement
Interface directly with residents, shopkeepers, and Nagar Nigam workers to understand local waste-management challenges.
Brainstorm simple, scalable solutions that can be adopted neighborhood by neighborhood.
Blue Bag Movement Launch
Showcase and distribute reusable “Blue Bags” as part of Prithvi Innovations’ signature SAMBHAV - sustainable Waste Management program.
Event Highlights
🧹 Clean-Up Drive: Action on the Ground
With gloves on hands, reusable sacks in tow, and hearts full of commitment, students, volunteers, Nagar Nigam staff, and community members came together to clean the area around Sharma Tea Ground, a public hotspot often littered with waste.
Participants actively picked up plastic wrappers, bottles, kulhar, paper, and other non-biodegradable waste.
The waste was carefully segregated into dry and wet waste to reinforce the message of responsible waste disposal.
The event site was adorned with colorful awareness posters and handmade placards with strong messages like "Plastic Mukt Bharat", "Apna Kachra, Apni Zimmedari", and "Be the Solution, Not the Pollution."
🗣️ Public Interface: Conversations That Matter
True change begins with dialogue. And that’s exactly what we sparked. From Nagar Nigam officials to curious onlookers, we held open conversations on:
Daily waste challenges in residential and market areas
The need for segregating dry and wet waste
Reducing dependency on single-use plastics
Simple ways to adopt Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) at the local level

As expressed by our Founder, Mrs. Anuradha Gupta ,these weren’t just discussions - they were seedlings of solutions, planted in community minds.
She took the lead role in guiding & interacting with the public and shared many Innovative ideas, consistently practised by Prithvi Innovations, and appealed to them to adopt them, along with the Lucknow Nagar Nigam and CMS chow students, like :
Demonstrated how to reuse Kulhar and other plastic waste.
Showed the organic Compost & Bioenzyme by reusing the Kitchen or organic waste.
Celebrate zero- waste events, especially Bada Mangal, coming uo im May/ June months.
To avoid wasting food ( Save Food oath was also taken).
To rescue food and give to the needy and hungry.
To rescue guthli and seeds of seasonal fruits and replant them or contribute to Prithvi Innovations Guthli Bank.
To upcylcle dry garbage where possible and conserve precious resources & reduce pollution.
Promoted reusable habits and circular thinking & Green Livelihood.
Anti tobacco message and requests were made to Guthka sellers and people to switch to healthier alternatives and not conaume guthka, Cigarettes and throw them irresponsibly here and therw.
The vegetable and fruit sellers on bicycles and people were requested to switch to cloth bags and stop using or giving polythene bags .
Inspite of being banned Sharma tea and all nearby stalls were rampantly using polythene .The Lucknow nagar team were questioned about it but it was clearly visible Bans are only on paper.
This wasn’t a giveaway - it was a green hand extended toward conscious living.
Shri R. K Verma, Zonal Officer along with Shri Sanjeev and Shri Mukesh, from Lucknow Nagar Nigama also interacted with the public .
Mr. Amit Gulati, Teacher Coordinator with the team of students played their important part in the drive.
👣 Walk the Talk Campaign that Truly Walked the Change
CMS Chowk students, with their bright posters and silent actions, turned the day into a mobile awareness campaign. As they walked through the area, chanting eco-slogans and talking to the public, they showed what it truly means to "walk the talk" for the environment.
🙏 Gratitude & The Way Forward
We extend heartfelt thanks to the Lucknow Nagar Nigam, CMS Chowk Branch, and every citizen who joined, smiled, supported, or even paused to reflect.
Events like this aren’t just days on a calendar - they’re reminders of our shared responsibility. Because when the community cleans together, it heals together.
Because Every Day is Earth Day
Let’s carry forward this momentum beyond just one day. Let's make sustainability a lifestyle, cleanliness a habit, and Earth a priority - every single day.
💚 This Earth Day, we didn't just talk sustainability - we lived it. One broom, one Blue Bag, and one conversation at a time.
